Window Drapes
What is the appropriate length for window drapes?
I want to hang panels(drapes) on my bedroom window, although I am not sure of the correct length to hem them. My window length is 4' to the top of the sill and 4'3'' if measured at the base of the sill. I plan on using tie backs to hold them open, so
I would add an additional 2" to the length of the curtain. That should be a sufficient amount. It will still look good if hanging straight and will be a good length, if pulled back. So that would make the hem length 4'5".

12:12:09 I bought the Pro XL, do not know if this is different than Pro XL plus looks the same to me. Got to save it from the big box that with a "C" for $ 250 after $ 50 rebate begins, valid until 31.12.2009
Pro: light, from behind, bags exhaust, under furniture, Independent Can, quick cleaning. Cons: loud, can not as well not turn off the "Brush", pulls the left.
I have a Eureka Boss Smart ($ 149) for about for years after reading ConsumerReports and see it as a Best Buy. I was really happy with him, and it has a good job. My wife is petite and was unhappy with the weight of it. It was also difficult, the hose system for high places like door frames (I stood himself on a ladder use and held the high vacuum from the bottom in one hand while cleaning cobwebs with the hose in the other installations. Not dangerous.) Was day One my wife with the hose attachment to clean the stairs and stretched it a littletoo far, the vacuum fell down and was very traumatized. Now we had an excuse for a new store. My wife liked the Oreck from the ads, because it very easy to clean and supposedly good. I blanched a bit on the price and studied for months. Consumer Reports did not write a stellar, but others had to say decent things.
So I saw the last Costco coupons and $ 50 off the Oreck. Went today and got it and started it for a testHour or so when we got home. We have wood and tile floors with oriental carpets five different thickness. The thicker rug with a pad under it cleaned very well, easier than with the other vac and we were able to get all the way under the coffee table and an outlet part of the way under the sofa – what we could not do before. We have two large dogs and it has a great job of picking up the hair from the carpet and tile floor. My wife has the thinner carpet and said it was not quite as good as the thicker ones. Ialso noticed that on the thin blankets, spinning, "Brush" tends to drag the vacuum left – a little annoying. Cleaned the wood floors just fine, no apparent damage from the spinning brush. I am perfectly happy and would recommend it, especially for $ 250.
