will a queen size bedding fit on a full size mattress and bed?

I want to purchase a queen comferter/bedding set. But i don't want to pay more if i can get a full size bed and mattress that can fit the comforter. So does a queen comforter= a full mattress and bed?

queen does not = full

you can use a queen set on a full mattress - the fitted sheet will be a bit larger - but the flat and comforter while a little longer on the sides and end will work just fine - in fact when i can, i get queen size
